SEC Hours of Operation

The SEC’s EDGAR system operates within specific time windows for accepting filings. Here are the details:

  • Eastern Standard Time (EST): Filings are accepted from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
  • Pacific Standard Time (PST): Filings are accepted from 3:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Additionally:

  • There is a “daily deadline” of 5:30 PM EST / 2:30 PM PST. Any filing made before this time will be made publicly available. Filings after this time will not be accessible until the next business day.
  • Section 16 Form 3, 4, 5 filings (Insider Reports) are made public immediately up to EDGAR’s closing time.
  • Filings cannot be made after EDGAR’s closing time, during weekends, or on federal holidays when the EDGAR system is unavailable.
